The Mid-America Horse Shows

Mid-America Horse Show Association produces three shows a year and oversees a regional circuit of 35 affiliated A and B rated shows in Illinois and surrounding states where members earn points towards custom-designed year-end awards

Mid-America Spring Horse Show
March 28-30, 2008
Ledges Sporting Horses Stables - Roscoe, IL
Judge: Renae Van Zomeren

CLARIFICATION: The new Open Western and Hunter classes are for Saddlebreds only, to be ridden by an amateur or professional. A horse may be shown by a professional in these classes and then shown by an amateur in the Saddlebred Pleasure classes at this competition for which it otherwise qualifies.

Mid-America Signature Horse Show
July 31-August 2, 2008 (Thursday-Friday-Saturday)
Ledges Sporting Horses Stables - Roscoe, IL

UPDATE: Signature has been moved one day earlier, now starting on Thursday, July 31, and ending on Saturday, August 2, to accommodate the barns that will be shipping out to the Illinois State Fair on that Sunday. The show will be held in Ledges' excellent outdoor arena, like last year, with the indoor available if needed.

Class Corrections:

  • Class 28 should be: Show Pleasure Three Gaited Novice/Junior (Friday morning)
  • Class 33 should be: Country Pleasure Three Gaited Limit/Junior (Friday morning)

Exhibitor-Friendly....
Our Mid-America Signature horse show has it all! Our show is designed to be versatile and fun. There are the regular pleasure and performance classes, lots of academy classes and then some "old fashion" classes that aren't held often but still are great fun for the participants and spectators. We enjoyed great attendance last year and we are expecting the same for this year, please come and join us!

Reminder: Showing at Signature can qualify a horse for one of six new Mid-America members-only Show and Country Pleasure classes at Mane Event Show this fall. To qualify, the horse must have competed in the same class (either qualifying or championship) at Signature or Mid-America Spring in the following six classes: Show Pleasure Three Gaited Junior Exhibitor, Adult or Driving; and Country Pleasure Three Gaited Junior Exhibitor, Adult or Driving. Owner and rider/driver are required to be current Mid-America members.

Mid-America Mane Event Horse Show
Oct 23, 2008 - Oct 26, 2008
Illinois State Fairgrounds - Springfield, IL
Judges: Kim Cowart, Gary Garone and Michael Richardson

JOIN US AT THE COUNTRY'S BEST SHOW FACILITIES

Widely recognized by the show horse community as the country's best show facilities, the Illinois State Fairgrounds has a 116' x 240' indoor arena with excellent footing, three covered warm-up areas (two are enclosed) and a round pen, all available 24/7….plus outstanding permanent stabling.

At Mane Event, the show horse exhibitor does NOT share the facilities with other divisions since only show horse divisions are offered. Mane Event is produced by show horse people for show horse exhibitors and offers complete divisions for Saddlebreds in performance, park and pleasure (all A-rated by USEF), plus equitation (saddle seat, pleasure, adult, walk/trot - 15 classes plus three National Pleasure Olympics finals), Hackney Ponies (harness, roadster, pleasure - 18 classes), and Roadster Horses (bike, under saddle - 5 classes).

Mane Event offers serious competition, but also has a fun factor: exhibitors of all ages enjoy watching the Trainers Equitation Championship which turns the tables on the student/coach relationship and the show's popular Progressive Party on Saturday night provides a fun social evening for the exhibitors who love having a good time.

Host to the National Pleasure Equitation Olympics
